The Breeze And The Lockpick

Well, inevitably, this will be in the Draw This Again! Meme since this is a redrawing of this from July 2011 under the reconcepting shown here. Highwind <3 Even though your hair is so hard to draw, I still love you.

Alright, when I'm finished editing and the other normal rituals for creating a speedpaint, the link will be placed in replacement of this sentence!

OH GOD THE IMPROVEMENT. I think I like cell shading way more than gradient shading. So much more. My anatomy and the way I draw wrinkles is still bad though.

So why did I name it "The Breeze And The Lockpick?" Well...

This is Highwind, my OC, who is a 17-year old adventurer, a sailor, and a thief. Some background: He lives in the harbor town of Larnoirtta after moving (he had been caught stealing and was sentenced to exile and 1 year probation from sailing.) With that, he dyed his originally blonde hair a bright red and gelled it in one direction. He acts as a tour guide for Landon, who is passing through, but makes the mistake of trying to steal from Lan and is easily defeated and imprisoned. However, Landon needs an adept sailor to aid him in crossing the tsunamis to the east, so he breaks Highwind out, steals a ship, and off they sail.

I love how much improvement is in this drawing ;_; I still feel like it's bad, though. Face is a bit messed up. And the ear. Something's up with the hair. And the dagger. And the bag. And it's all sketchy.
